DTEA calls on Div Com, vows to continue protest

JAMMU, Feb 15: On 77th day of protest and 50th day of chain hunger strike, a delegation of Dharmarth Trust Employees Association today met Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma and discussed their demand of constitution of a Board for all temples under Dharmarth Trust on the pattern of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB).
Divisional Commissioner told the employees that he would stress the Trust management to enhance their salary 20 to 30 per cent. He asked employees to call off ongoing strike which was rejected by the employees as they clearly said that they are demanding the constitution of Shrine Board of all temples and removal of present Trust structure otherwise their agitation will continue peacefully.
President of the Association, Vivek Bandral appealed to the striking employees to remain united till their demand are not fulfilled which among other things included constitution of Shrine Board of all temples.
Chief spokesperson, Th Karnail Chand appealed to all Hindu community for boycotting all those persons who sold the Hindu temples land to non Hindus in Kashmir valley and Jammu region and even sold the land of Rani Ki Samadhi and Ghoshala.
The persons who sat on hunger strike today include Pt Rajesh Kumar, Pt Rakesh Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Yashpal, Ajay, Yashpal, Babu Bishamber, Kewal, Bablu Singh and Dinesh.
Ex-general secretary, Pritam Sharma, Sunit Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Subash, Pt Parshotam, Pt Brijmohan Sharma, Pt Om Parkash, Pt Rampal, Pt Balwant Shastri, Vimal Khajuria, Sat Paul, Pawan, Deepu, Rinku, Makhnu, Jivan, Bushan, Sonali, Renu, Anju, Sheetal, Sonika, Sukeshni, Rita Slathia, Rekha, Ritu Devi, Harbans Lal, Surjeet Singh Slathia, Surjeet Singh Jamwal, Parshotam Sharma, Ram Paul Sharma, Jagjeet Chand, Sahil Sharma, Pt Babu Bishambar Lal, Raj Kumari, Leela Devi, Sheetal, Ritu Rajput, Jyoti, Sheela Devi, Savita Jamwal, Kanchan, Rajni, Shobha, Nisha and Sonika were also present in the protest.
