POONCH, May 10: District Social Welfare Officer, Poonch Abdul Rahim asked the Station House Officers of Poonch and Surankote to lodge FIRs against the applicants with malafide intent to take undue benefit under Marriage Assistance Scheme for forging documents.
Official sources said that as per scheme guidelines, applicants have to apply a month ago of her marriage, while two applicants from Nangali and Degwar areas applied to get financial assistance on March 18 and April Ist, respectively but when Tehsil level verification committee verified the cases, it came into knowledge that they both were already married. One applicant from Dara Bagyal Poonch had applied and when her documents were verified on portal and through AD FCS & CA office, she had tempered the ration card from NPHH to PHH to avail undue benefit and in one case the applicant from Samote area of Surankote was minor.
Taking cognizance of the matter, DSWO written to the SHO Poonch and Surankote to register cases and take action under law.
District Social Welfare Officer, Abdul Rahim Mir when contacted said that department is verifying all the cases through tehsil level verification committees and other possible means and these applicants were found to get undue benefits under Marriage Assistance Scheme by using forged documents.
