JAMMU, Aug 25: Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Party (DSSP) chairman, Ch Lal Singh along with his large number of supporters led a procession to Maharaja Hari Singh Park at Tawi Bridge Jammu to stand in solidarity with entire Dogra fraternity in demanding a holiday on Sept 23, the Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh.
All parties from Jammu region have come on a common platform led by Ch Lal Singh to reiterate the demand of declaring a holiday on Sept 23 to the Govt of J&K. A large number of Dogra youth under the banner of Rajput Kumar Sabha sit on Dharna at Maharaja Hari Singh Park at Tawi Bridge on 23rd of every month to demand a holiday on birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh i.e 23 September. This time the members of Rajput Kumar Sabha are sitting on indefinite strike till the demand is met by the Govt of UT of J&K.
The protesters were lathi- charged on the night of August 23, jailed and Section 144 was enforced. Undaunted spirited Dogra youth are back for peaceful protest for a legitimate demand next to the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh at Tawi Bridge. Ch Lal Singh , president Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Party along with his hundreds of supporters was at the venue standing shoulder to shoulder in solidarity with the Rajput Sabha supporting the issue. He recalled the sacrifices and reforms of great Maharaja for the welfare of the society.
DSSP leader was accompanied by K D Singh, senior vice president , Balbir Singh, Prof HR Sharma, Bhupinder Singh Jamwal, Suman Wazir, Adv BS Pathania, Brig Vijay Sagar, Raju Pahalwan, Raghav Khajuria, Adv Pushpinder Singh, Rahul Sharma, Divyanash, Paramveer Singh, Rahul Sharma, Dr Taran Singh and others.
