UDHAMPUR, Jan 4: Udhampur unit of Dogra Sadhar Sabha (DSS) today honoured eminent Urdu writer Balraj Bakshi for his exceptional contribution in the field of literature.
As per the press release, Krishan Kumar Bhardwaj, President Dogra Sadar Sabha Udhampur unit along with other prominent personalities of the town called upon Balraj Bakshi and honoured him by presenting an Award of Excellence at Adarsh Colony area of the district.
On the occasion, Padam Shri, Prof. Shiv Dutt Nirmohi, who presided over the meeting, highlighted the contribution of Balraj Bakshi as a columnist, writer, poet, and journalist in popularising and promoting literary activities in Jammu and Kashmir in general and Udhampur town in particular.
Nirmohi said that Bakshi is not only popular in India but abroad and people read and appreciate his works as they focus on different aspects of life.
Renowned archaeologist and writer Anil Paba; writer, poet and academician Ashok Sharma, Souhail Khokher and Ashok Bakshi were also present on the occasion.
