JAMMU, Jan 21: Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) has demanded the Government to bifurcate the Civil Secretariat and make it functional simultaneously both in Srinagar and Jammu to enable the people of all regions to have easy access to the Government.
The meeting of the Sabha, which was held here on Monday under the chairmanship Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and DSS president, expressed resentment over Government’s non-seriousness in renovation and repair work of Mubarak Mandi Palace Complex and 135 feet collapsed wall of Bahu Fort.
The Sabha members also criticized the Government for its negative attitude for the development of renowned Purmandal and Utterbehni shrines, non-empowerment of Panchayats, delay in construction of rope-way project and proposed lake in river Tawi besides other issues like non-fulfillment of promises made with Numberdars and Chowkidars of the State and people living near the zero line of the Indo-Pak border.
The meeting also demanded a clear cut policy for the most backward areas of whole of the kandi belt of Jammu province and starting of full-fledged Duggar Channel.
