JAMMU, June 24: In a significant development, Directorate of School Education Jammu today ordered dissolution of various Cells under the Directorate, CEO and ZEO level with immediate effect and consequent detachment of the teachers deployed in these cells.
As per the order, the staff posted/deployed in these cells shall immediately report to their original place of posting without availing any joining time and resume their teaching duties.
Pertinent to mention that various cells like Cultural Cell, Counselling Cell, Coordination Cell, Media Cell, Innovation Cell, NCC Cell etc were constituted and operational at the level of Directorate of School Education, Chief Education Office, Zonal Education Office etc where a number of teachers were deployed for coordinating and conducting different activities.
Pointing out that National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 encourages decentralised and school based implementation of various activities rather than operating them through centralised cells, the order says there is need that these activities are performed at the school level under the overall supervision of Cluster Head, thereby reducing the utility of these cells and designated Nodal Officers in various offices of School Education Department.
“There is need to strengthen school level teaching and learning process i.e. teachers must primarily serve their role in the schools to improve learning outcomes and holistic development of students as envisaged in NEP 2020, and therefore, in order to streamline operations within the Directorate of School Education, it is hereby ordered that various Cells constituted at all levels viz Directorate, CEOS & ZEOS shall be dissolved with immediate effect to ensure optimal resource utilization,” reads the order number DSEJ/2025/33880-85, dated 24-06-2025.
Ruling that various nodal officers designated for working of these cells are also dissolved with immediate effect, the order further reads that the staff posted/deployed in these cells shall report to their original place of posting immediately without availing any joining time and resume their teaching duties while all record, relevant materials maintained by the respective cells must be handed over to the dealing clerk to be designated by the Head of office.
It has been further ordered that the Heads of Clusters shall undertake these activities at the school level strictly as per the activity calendar for the year 2025-26 , preferably during morning assembly, without any compromise in academic standards.
Further, to review the progress of students in academic and co-curricular activities, a regular PTM shall be held on fortnightly basis while the consolidated action taken report of these co-curricular activities and PTMs, along with relevant media must be sent on monthly basis innovation desk of the Directorate.
