JAMMU, Feb 16: Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta inaugurated botanical garden, newly renovated ICT Lab and a renovated classroom at Government Higher Secondary School Bhalwal in the presence of Joint Director Jammu/Samba/Kathua Range, Shoket Mahmood, DEPO Jammu, Balbir Sudan and Principal HSS Bhalwal, Dr Kishor Kumar Sharma along with staff members.
Director School Education, while inaugurating the botanical garden, said she felt an aesthetic essence in the garden and appreciated it with remarkable-comments. According to her, it was the best maintained botanical garden she had ever seen in any Government school and the water harvesting pond was innovative and worth praising.
She enquired about the various species of plants planted in the garden. She emphasized that students should gain the first hand experience with nature by indulging themselves in such activities. She also planted a medicinal plant in the botanical garden. The Director acknowledged that huge work has been undertaken by the school Principal Dr Kishor Kumar Sharma in a short span of three months, which could be an example for the other institutions also. She said that the school could be one of the best schools in Jammu if the same efforts are continued in future.
While addressing the students, she gave valuable tips for the forthcoming examination. The Director said that she has given guidelines and set up a road map for various school reforms and student welfare in precise terms. She also highlighted the efforts of HSS Bhalwal team, especially the Eco Club in-charge Pooja Rani, Lect Zoology and ICT Lab in-charge Dr Priya Jitendra.
Earlier, the school Principal highlighted achievements of HSS Bhalwal. He thoroughly narrated various activities going on in the school.
Joint Director School Education Jammu, in his address, appreciated the efforts of the Principal and staff members. He said that HSS Bhalwal would become role model for other schools of this division. DEPO Jammu also acknowledged the team spirit and combined efforts of school Principal, staff and students to make the institution beautiful. The Programme was anchored by Dr Priya Jitendra.
