DSEJ, ICS organize webinar on Career Guidance

JAMMU, June 15: Counselling Cell, Directorate of School Education Jammu in collaboration with Institute for Career Studies (ICS) International organized a webinar on the topic ‘Future-Ready for Post-COVID Careers’.
Dr Amrita Dass, leading career consultant and pioneering career counsellor of India was the resource person.
This webinar was also live-streamed on Facebook page of counselling cell DSEJ which benefitted thousands of participants from all the districts. This webinar benefitted more than 8000 students, parents, teachers, counsellors, Principals and others through different online platforms.
Anuradha Gupta, Director, Directorate of School Education, Jammu was the chief guest at the event, who said that the theme of the webinar was “extremely relevant” in the present times. “This event with ICS will help strengthen DSEJ’s efforts in reaching out better to students and parents,” she said. She added that with the establishment of psychological laboratories in every DIET, counsellors will be able to perform psychometric tests.
Earlier, Prof Arti Bakshi, Head, Department of Psychology, University of Jammu, and the guest of honour at the event, welcomed the panelists and the participants.
Dr Amrita Dass, Founder Director ICS International said that there will be digital transformation in each career field after this COVID-19 phase. So, specialization in one field will not be good enough for future jobs. She talked about Post COVID Career Trends, making ideal subject and career choices and building employability skills. Dr Dass also urged parents and educators to understand the dreams and aspirations of today’s students, who belonged to the digital era ‘Generation-Z’ (born between 1995 and 2015).
The session was followed by Q&A session moderated by Head Counselling Cell Romesh Kumar in which students asked varied and interesting questions from the key resource person.

Alka Sharma, Shanti Saroop Sharma, Shveta Sharma, Aao Baat Karein Team like Preeti Sharma, Bindu, Irfan Wani, Psychological Task Force Members and Sohail Waani DNO contributed in the smooth conduct of this webinar.
