DSEJ, ICS organize career guidance session for 10th, 12th pass outs

JAMMU, July 17: Counselling Cell, Directorate of School Education Jammu, in collaboration with Institute for Career Studies (ICS) International, organised a webinar on the topic ‘Be Future Ready with your Best Fit Subject, Course and Career Choices’.
Dr Amrita Dass, leading career consultant and pioneering career counsellor of India was the resource person in the webinar. More than 1000 participants including students, parents, teachers, counsellors, and HoIs attended it online.
Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director School Education Jammu, in his introductory remarks, laid emphasis on the activation of counselling services in schools to guide the confused and directionless students amidst the bombardment of information.
Dr Amrita Dass, Founder Director Institute for Career Studies (ICS International), conducted the session in a spell-bound manner. She talked about formulae of rewarding career which will earn recognition, remuneration and satisfaction. She apprised learners about the “power of now” and through slogan ‘If you can dream it, you can do it’ with live examples of whats happening in our world like spaceship dream coming true, flying car etc. “Don’t be conditioned but be open to new horizons,” she said and added that there are no ideal career but there are always ideal choices.
The session was followed by Q&A session in which students asked varied and interesting questions. All queries were very well attended with satisfactory answers by Dr Amrita Dass one by one.
Romesh Kumar Sharma, Head Counselling Cell and moderator of the session assured the participants of holding such amazing webinars in future as well to attend the unattended queries/apprehensions of students and other stakeholders.

Counsellor Shanti Saroop Sharma, Dr Alka Sharma, Dr Surinder, Preeti Sharma, Psychological Task Force Members and many others contributed in the smooth conduct of this webinar.
