JAMMU, Feb 28: Director School Education, Jammu, Simrandeep Singh today convened a meeting of all 10 Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of Jammu province.
The meeting was also attended by Joint Director, SSA and Elementary Education & Personnel Officer to Director.
In order to address the genuine issues of postings of the Masters & Lecturers, the Director ordered the setting up of a four member committee comprising of CEOs of Kishtwar, Jammu, Udhampur and Poonch to frame a draft of Transfer Policy which should frame a zone based policy by segregating the entire Jammu province into zones on the basis of difficulty of terrain and distances from home town.
The committee has been mandated to consider the issues related to female employees, retiring employees etc. The committee will also suggest ways to utilise the services of Medical & Security related cases. The committee has been asked to give its report after due consultation with all stakeholders by April 10, 2015.
The Director also directed the CEOs to prepare the list of Masters, Headmasters and Lecturers, who are working in difficult areas, out of their home districts, for years together and have not been posted back to their homes. He also discussed the issues related to the grievances of Lab bearers who have been denied promotions to Lab Assistants inspite of seniority and eligibility due to the confusion caused by an SRO of 2008.
The issue of alleged fake degrees of graduation/BEd also figured in the meeting. The Director also received information from CEOs regarding various incomplete buildings under SSA/RMSA along with reasons for each, reasons for delay in KGBVs and vacancy positions in various schools.
The Director sought information from CEOs to identify vacant posts so that the salaries of repatriated Masters in Kathua & Jammu districts could be disbursed. He also sought the pending status of salaries of other employees under Plan, Non-plan, SSA, RMSA & NPS. All the CEOs assured full cooperation & assistance to the Director in improving the Education Department.
