Srinagar, Aug 25: Police today said to have arrested 3 drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
Officers from PS Kunzer under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Hilal Khaliq at a checkpoint established at Kunzer intercepted two persons identified as Rouf Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani resident of Lolpora Kunzer and Lateef Ahmad Sofi, son of Ghulam Nabi Sofi resident of Ward No. 2 Kunzer.
“During checking, officers were able to recover 3.5 kgs of poppy straw & 260gms of charas from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to the police station where they remain in custody,” police said.
Similarly, Officers from PS Baramulla under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Syed Sajad Ahmad at a checkpoint established at Azadgunj Baramulla intercepted a person identified as Shahid Majeed Bhat, son of Abdul Majeed Bhat resident of Mohalla Mir Sahib Baramulla. During checking, officers were able to recover 85gms of charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the Police Station.
Accordingly, Police have registered cases under relevant sections of law at respective police stations.
