Drug peddler’s house attached

PULWAMA, Nov 13: Police today attached the residential house of a notorious drug peddler in Awantipora sub-division of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The double storeyed residential house belongs to a notorious drug peddler Bakhtawar Makroo, a resident of Gulzarpora, Awantipora.
The property valued at nearly Rs 12 lakhs has been attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act 1985.
Police said that during the investigations, it was established that the sealed residential house had been acquired through illegal means from the illicit trafficking of narcotic by the owner.
The accused drug peddler is involved in various drug peddling cases and two FIRs stand registered against him at Police Station Awantipora. He was first arrested in way back in 2017 and also in 2022 on drug peddling charges.
The accused drug peddler is currently lodged at Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu.
