SRINAGAR, Aug 16: Police today said to have arrested 2 drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered psychotropic substance from their possession.
Officers from Police Station Budgam at a checkpoint established at Dafpora Nasrullahpora intercepted 02 persons riding a Scooty bearing registration number JK01H-0789.
“They have been identified as Javaid Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rahman Dar resident of Nasrullahpora and Ijaz Ahmad Khan son of Mohd Amin Khan, resident of Dafpora Nasrullahpora,” police said.
During checking, police said, officers were able to recover 55 bottles of codeine phosphate from their possession.
“They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. The Scooty used in the commission of crime has also been seized,” police said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 256/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and further investigation has been initiated.
