Drug peddlers held with intoxicant injections, tablets

JAMMU, Mar 30: Sidhra police arrested three drug peddlers along with large quantity of intoxicant injections and tablets.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Sidhra police post laid a naka at Asrarabad and signaled an auto bearing registration number JK02BE-9210 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police recovered 167 intoxicant injections and 165 tablets from the possession of three persons traveling in the auto and arrested them.
The accused have been identified as Yakeen Ali (driver), son of Ahmed Din and Mohammad Yousuf, son of Noor Ahmed, both residents of Bajalta and Bobby, son of Sham Singh of Asrarabad.
They had brought the consignment of drugs from neighbouring State and were about to disseminate it among the youths here to make them drug addicts. Acting swiftly police thwarted their nefarious designs and saved the future of youths.
A case under FIR Number 78/16 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Sidhra police post SI Noor Ahmed made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and Additional SP Rural Arun Gupta.
