RAMBAN, Feb 22: Batote police arrested two drug peddlers along with poppy straw.
As per police sources, a team from police station Batote laid a naka near Baggu Nallah on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and intercepted a Punjab bound truck bearing registartion number PB13AB-4052.
During checking, police recovered 3.5 kilograms poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Bhadur Ali, son of Atta Mohammad and and Rattan Singh, son of Mali Singh, both residents of Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 13/16 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at police station Batote and investigation started.
The arrest was made by SHO Batote police station Inspector Sameer Jeelani under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Rafiq Choudhary and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
