KATHUA, June 28: An alleged drug peddler was arrested with 6.05 grams of heroin-like-substance from Mandli area falling within the jurisdiction of Police Station Billawar here.
During naka checking at Mandli Village, a party of Police Station Billawar led by SHO concerned, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, under the supervision of SP Operations Upper Kathua, Aumir Iqbal, SDPO Billawar, Neeraj Padyar, and overall guidance of SSP Kathua, Shobhit Saxena, arrested one Layaqat Ali of Ghar Samana Banj, tehsil Majalta, district Udhampur, with the consignment, a police official said.
He was accordingly booked in case FIR number 103/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Billawar, he said.
According to him, the recovered contraband has been seized as per the legal procedures and further investigation has been set into motion to trace the source and linkages of the narcotics supply.
