JAMMU, Apr 25: An alleged drug peddler was arrested with 11.71 grams of heroin-like substance from city area here today, officials said.
During naka checking, a team of Police Station City intercepted a scooty near the Jammu Municipal Corporation gate, they said, adding that the rider instead tried to escape but was chased and overpowered by the police.
During search, police recovered 11.71 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession, they said.
According to officials, the accused, identified as Sunny of Mouli Complex, Mouli Majra, Chandigarh, presently staying at Malik Market, Jammu, was accordingly arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station City with further investigation set into the motion.
