KATRA, June 10: Katra Police today arrested a drug peddler and seized 950 gms of poppy straw from his possession.
A Police team, headed by SHO Katra, Inspector Sanjeev Sharma, laid a special naka at Railway Road Katra and intercepted a Tempo Traveller bearing registration number JK02T/6957, which was on way from Ambika Chowk Katra to Railway Station.
During checking, the police team recovered poppy straw (Bhuki) weighing 950 gms from the possession of driver Raj Kumar, a resident of Bhagtha, Katra.
Police arrested the accused and seized the recovered poppy straw besides the Tempo Traveller. A case has been registered in this connection
