JAMMU, Jan 11: Akhnoor police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered 1000 intoxicants from his possession.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Akhnoor police station laid a naka and intercepted a person identified as Jasbir Singh alias Badshah, son of Balwant Singh of Village Dhanpur, Khour.
During checking, police recovered 1000 intoxicant capsules from his possession and has been arrested, spokesman said, adding that the accused used to sell the intoxicants among the youths in Khour and nearby areas.
A case under FIR number 14/13 under Sections 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Akhnoor police station and investigation started.
Police party led by SHO Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the close supervision of DySP Rayees Ahmed Bhat.
