Drug peddler arrested with intoxicant tablets, cash

JAMMU, Aug 7: Gandhi Nagar Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered large quantity of intoxicant tablets from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by SHO Inspector Gurnam Singh laid a naka and signaled a scooty bearing Registration Number JK02BC-8945.
On seeing police cops, the rider accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops intercepted him.
During checking, police team recovered 12800 intoxicant tablets and Rs 7850 cash from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The cash recovered is assumed to be collected after selling the intoxicant tablets.
The arrested person has been identified as Jugal Bali, son of Harbans Lal, a resident of Kalyanpur Marh, district Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 132/2020 under Section 8/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SDPO South Ram Singh, SP South Deepak Digra and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
