JAMMU, Aug 29: Sarwal Police arrested a drug peddler along with heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Post Sarwal led by SI Yougal Sharma and assisted by PSI Satjeet Singh laid a naka near Toph Sherkhania and intercepted a person who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 4.9 grams heroin from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Amil Malik, son of Muneer Ahmed, a resident of New Plot District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 135 /2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
The overall arrest and recovery was made under the supervision of SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Ravi Kant, SDPO West Rahul Nagar and SP City Mohita Sharma.
