JAMMU, Apr 10: Bagh-e-Bahu Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered ganja from his possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu led by SHO Inspector Arjun Singh Chib and assisted by ASI Harmeet Singh under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari laid a naka near Rakh Bahu area and intercepted a man, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 1.200 kilograms ganja from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Rajesh Kumar, son of Ram Naresh of Uttar Pradesh, at present Gujjar Basti Bahu Fort District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 33/2022 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
