JAMMU, Oct 16: Nagrota police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 50 grams heroin from his possession.
As per police sources, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka at Ban area and intercepted an alto car.
During checking, police recovered 50 grams heroin from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Raies Ahmed Ganai, son of Ghulam Hussain Ganai of Village Bona Gund, Verinag District Anantnag, at present Upper Bazaar District Ramban.
During questioning, the accused disclosed that he was going to Jammu to sell the heroin among the youth to make illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 251/18 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by SI Mohammad Ashraf made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
