JAMMU, Oct 27: Continuing with the special drive to ensure availability of wholesome sweets and dry fruit on the eve of Diwali to the consumer at large, a team of the Food Safety Officers under the supervision Sanjeev Kumar, Assistant Controller Food, (MLJ), Drugs & Food Control Organization, J&K, Jammu today carried out inspections of various Sweet shops, Dhabha, Milk Shop & Karyana Shops in the area of Bus Stand, Canal Road, Gandhi Nagar, Trikuta Nagar & Channi Himat areas.
Eleven samples of various food articles such as Mixed Milk, Dahi, Snacks, Patisa, Kalakhand, Kaju Barfi, Roasted Badam, Biscuits (2), Ladoo & Burfi, have been lifted from the vendors namely Labbu Di Hatti, Canal Road, VLCC Health Care Ltd. Channi Himat, Bikaner Sweet Shop, Trikuta Nagar, Vermani Karyana Store Channi Himat, Food Republic Channi Himat, Pahalwan Di Hatti, Gandhi Nagar, Ganpati Food Junction, Gandhi Nagar, Nav Durga Sweet Shop, Aquaf Market, Gandhi Nagar, Dayal House Gandhi Nagar and Jai Hind Bakery, Gandhi Nagar for carrying out testing/analysis.
Moreover, three challan against Jai Ambha Dhaba, Bus Stand, Jammu, Farooq Muslim Hotel, Bus Stand and New Mughal Dhabha Bus stand for carrying out their business under unhygienic and insanitary condition shall be filed before the competent Authority in due course of time.
Besides Seven Food Business Operators namely Sri Krishna Vaishno Bhoynalaya, Bus Stand, Behool Karyana Store, Bus Stand, Sizzlers Sector 4, Channi Himmat, Chicken Cottage Sec.4, Channi Himmat, Suvidha Shoppe, Channi Himmat, Mulkh Raj & Sons, Channi Himmat, Jammu and VLCC Health Care Ltd. Channi Himmat, Jammu have been served notices for carrying out business without Authority under the FSS Act 2006.
All the Food Business operators dealing with food articles were informed to apply immediate for online Registration/ License under the FSS Act 2006 through Khidat Centre (Common Service Centre) to avoid legal proceeding as per mandate of the Act and to observe/ secure compliance with sanitary and Hygienic conditions of their premises as per mandate of the FSS (Licensing & Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations 2011.
