KATHUA, July 22: Leading towards farm mechanization in agriculture sector, the Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Kathua introduced the first of Drone Spray Technology in Kathua district today.
On the occasion Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Pandey, Chief Agriculture Officer, Kathua, Sanjeev Rai and DAO, Raju Mahajan , SDAO Murari Lal and numbers of farmers were present. The pilot project was introduce at village Kissanpur Kandi in Hiranagar Sector of Kathua district to control the Fahmi diseases as leaf blight spread out in maize crops. The drone was used to spray on affected maize crop and also used in spray of Nano Urea on paddy crop.
The trial was successful and drone complete the job in minutes which takes hours if it will done manually. The farmers are very much satisfied of new mechanization of drone technology introduced in Kathua district.
The Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey said that this technology is used in some states in agriculture sector and now on pilot project, it is also introduced in Kathua district by Agriculture Department will helps the farmers of hilly areas.
Chief Agriculture Officer, Kathua, Sanjeev Rai said that PM Narendra Modi has dream to double the farmer income and drone technology will help them to reduce the production cost to help the farmer. It is also useful in hilly areas and save the man and machinery hectic approach in hilly terrain. He said the farmer must get benefits of it.
