Drivers-Cleaners Union celebrates Annual Day

JAMMU, Dec 26: All  J&K Oil  Tankers Drivers and Cleaners Union celebrated its annual day function near Railway Station here today.
On this occasion  Ranjit Singh Raina, president  and Harasis Singh Advisor of the Union addressed the office bearers and other members of the Union.
The Union leaders informed that today the Union completed its one year of constitution, after winning the democratic elections. They reiterated their pledge to work for the welfare of the drivers and cleaners of the oil tankers,  who despite huge risk render their selfless services to the nation without caring for killing,  intense hot season in Jammu or bone- chilling cold of Ladakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Harasis Singh, informed all the members about the issues taken up and resolved after the intervention of the Union.  He apprised the members about the shifting of the oil and LPG tankers and trucks halt point at Udhampur  where there were complaints from the drivers and cleaners about lot of difficulties faced by them and it is only after the intervention and support of the government and administration that the halt point was shifted to Kud where some facilities are available to them including washroom, and rest points near Dhabas and hotels.
The Union leaders assured the members that they will continue serving the members with complete dedication as a family. They also thanked the drivers and cleaners for their support and also conveyed  their gratitude to the State Administration for rendering their help.
Other senior leaders of the union who were present on this occasion include Darvinder  Singh- general secretary, Bikesh Kumar  vice- president,  Rajesh Kumar Raju, Sohan Singh and Surinder  Singh.
