RAMBAN, Sept 7: A driver was killed while two others were injured in accident on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway here today.

As per police sources, a truck (tralla) bearing registration number RJ19GB-8209 was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu when it hit a canter UP66-T-1883 near Monkey Morh area of Digdol here on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway today early morning. The collision was so potent that after collision both the vehicles rolled down into the deep gorge, resulting into on the spot death of one person and injuries to two others.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of QRT, Army and CRPF personnel.
Both the injured persons were rescued and shifted to District Hospital Ramban, where their condition was stated to be out of danger when last reports came in.
The deceased was identified as Anuj Kumar Tripathi, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, while the injured were identified as Raju Ram, son of Khema Ram of Rajasthan and Om Narayan, son of Ram Dutt of Uttar Pradesh. In the accident, the cleaner of the truck identified as Sunil Kumar escaped unhurt.
A case FIR Number 138/2021 under Sections 279, 337 and 304-A IPC has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
