RAMBAN, Sept 17: A driver was killed while one another was injured when the truck they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near Peerah area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number PB35Z-0992 was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into gorge near Peerah area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway late last night, resulting into on the spot death of driver and serious injuries to one another.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and rescued the injured person.
The injured person identified as Pankaj Kumar, son of Surinder Kumar of Punjab was shifted to District Hospital Ramban from where he was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for specialized treatment.
The body of the deceased driver, whose identity was not ascertained, has been shifted to mortuary of DH Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 43/2020 under sections 279, 337 and 304-A IPC has been registered at Police Station Chanderkote and investigation started.
