Driver, associate arrested with poppy straw

JAMMU, Feb 3: Jhajjar Kotli police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a driver and his associate along 26 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station laid a naka at Suketar and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number PB08F-5834, which was on its way from Srinagar to Jammu.
During checking, police recovered 26 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver along with his associate.
The arrested persons have been identified as Hardeep Singh (driver), son of Lakhvinder Singh of district Jallandhar Punjab and Kamalpreet Singh, son of Karamjeet Singh of district Hoshiarpur Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 8/18 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Ajay Singh Chib made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Yashvir Singh Slathia, SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
