Driver, associate arrested for bovine smuggling

JAMMU, Feb 6: Nagrota police today arrested a driver and his associate for smuggling bovines to Valley.
As per police sources, a team from Nagrota police station laid a naka near Bantalab and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02U-2587. During checking, police rescued 10 bovine animals and arrested two persons including driver.
The accused have been identified as Munawar Hussain (driver), son of Makhan and Basharat Hussain, son of Mohammad Hussain, both residents of Kaller, tehsil Mendher, district Poonch.
A case under FIR Number 31/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota, Inspector Karan Chalotra, made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, SP Rural, Rajiv Pandey and SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand.
