RAMBAN, Apr 14: Police today arrested a driver for smuggling bovines to Valley near Baggu Nallah area, falling under the jurisdiction of Batote police station.
As per police sources, police team from Batote police station laid a naka at Baggu Nallah and intercepted a Srinagar bound Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02AQ-7532.
During checking, police rescued 4 bovine animals and arrested the driver of the vehicle.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Junaid, son of Zehar Din of Jagti Nagrota, tehsil Jammu.
A case under FIR number 32/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act registered at police station Batote and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO police station Batote Inspector Mohammad Iqbal made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
