RAMBAN, Feb 10: Chande-rkote police arrested a driver for smuggling bovine animals to Valley.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Chanderkote police station established a naka on NHW-44 and signaled a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02AU- 5636 to stop for checking.
Sensing trouble, driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the naka, but the active cops chased and intercepted the vehicle.
During checking, police rescued 2 bovine animals and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Siddique Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed of Khanpur, Nagrota, Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 9/16 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at police station Chanderkote against the accused and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Chanderkote police station Inspector Daljeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of Additional SP Ramban Arun Gupta and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
