RAJOURI, Nov 16: On the second day of its major drive against the violation of traffic rules and regulations, with main aim to prevent road accidents, Rajouri police today registered six cases against drivers, especially for overloading the passengers and endangering human lives, while a number of other vehicles have been seized.
The drive was started on Wednesday across the district on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police, Yougal Manhas while Addl SP Rajouri Mohd Yousuf and Addl SP Nowshera Master Popsy are monitoring the drive in their respective jurisdictions.
On the second day of drive today, police team from Sunderbani headed by SHO Pardeep Gupta lodged four FIRs , 123/2017, 124/2017, 125/2017 and 126/2017 under Sections 279, 336 RPC. Drivers of these vehicles have been arrested and vehicles seized.
These four vehicles are mini-buses bearing registration numbers JK02Q/ 3815, JK02D/ 6417, JK02L /5417 and JK02BE/ 7289.
Sunderbani police team also seized two motorcycles for violation of norms while many other vehicles have been challaned. Budhal police challaned two vehicles for violation of norms.
Kalakote police team led by SHO Darshan Singh intercepted two overloaded vehicles and registered FIR Nos 80/2017, 81/2017 U/S 279, 336 RPC while many others vehicles have been challaned and seizes.
Thanamandi police headed by SHO Nazir Dar under the supervision of SDPO Thanamandi Chowdhary Iftikar challaned more than a dozen vehicles while one vehicle has been seized and one case has also been registered.
Darhal police headed by SHO Azeem Hussain challaned and seized more than six vehicles for violation of norms.
A team of Rajouri police headed by SHO Ajay Chib challaned 40 vehicles for violation of norms while four have been seized. Manjakote police led by SHO Mohd Iqbal seized two vehicles.
