DRDO successfully carries out night-time arrested landing of LCA

NEW DELHI: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully carried out a night-time ‘arrested landing’ of the naval variant of Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter on Tuesday, the research agency posted a video with a caption ”Night time arrested landing of LCA Navy on 12 nov 2019.” In another tweet, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also congratulated the DRDO, Indian Navy and the HAL for the marvelous achievement.  According to DRDO sources, ”A normal LCA needs a runway spanning about one-km for take-off and landing. But, for the naval variant, the take-off stretch is about 200 m and landing needs 100 m.” (AGENCIES)
