Dr Sarin’s book selected for Sahitiya Akademi Award

JAMMU, June 24: The translation book of Dr Neelam Sarin an eminent writer from Jammu (J&K) has been selected for prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award for year 2021.
The decision to this effect was taken in the meeting of the Executive Board of the Akademy held at New Delhi today under the chairmanship of its president, Dr Chandrashekhar Kambar.
The Award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and an inscribed copper plaque. The Award will be conferred to Dr Sarin for the translation of her book Pakistan Di Hakikat Kanne Ru-Ba -Ru (Dogri).
It may be recalled that Dr Sarin is the wife of senior BJP leader, Govind Sarin. The book in English was written by journalist, Satish Verma on PoJK which is under forcible occupation of Pakistan since 1947. Dr Sarin has 26 books to her credit. She was recently appointed member of Mata Vaishnav Devi Shrine Board and is also associated with various social organisations.
