NEW DELHI, July 23: Social activist, naturalist and young leader belonging to J&K Dr Abdul Rashid Choudhary has been elected as Chairman cum CEO of the Earth Foundation International, a leading non profit organisation based on research, resource, policy and action and works on the issues related to peace, justice and sustainability in many countries of the world.
Dr Rashid is the first Asian to become the Chairman of the most promising non profit organisation of the world. Before his election as Chairman, Rashid has served on the board of governing council of EFI for three years in various capacities.
Dr Joe Griffin from USA, Dr Abdul Rashid from India, Ashley Kon from UK, Prof George Smith from Canada, Dr Janine Taylor from France, Barry Smith from South Africa, Jennifer Schultz from Austria, Kreutz Jan from Turkey, Su Lee from Japan, Pankaj Shahu from India, Reza Ahmed from Bangladesh and Prince M Ali from Saudi Arabia, Sara Alabuquerki from Austria, Jena William from Australia and Dr John Taylor from USA are the members elected to governing council of EFI for the next five years. Also, there will few recommendatory inductions in GC later this year.
Dr Joe Griffin, the outgoing Chairman, declared Dr Rashid elected as the Chairman of EFI for the next five years, during a video conference meet of EFI Governing Council coordinated in New Delhi at the EFI head office.
All the sixteen GC Members of EFI participated in the process and by a majority vote of 12 members Rashid got elected as the Chairman.
Dr Abdul Rashid Choudhary said that he will strive hard to achieve the goals and objectives set by the EFI.
