JAMMU, Sept 18: Dr T R Raina, State Programme Manager, Blood Transfusion and Laboratory Services, NRHM J&K and Secretary General of Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohamatology (ISBTI) attended 37th National Conference of ISBTI named TRANSCOM 2012 at Chennai.
Tamil Nadu Governor Dr K Rosaiah inaugurated the conference.
Dr Raina convened the Governing Body Meeting, Editorial Board Meeting and Annual General Meeting of ISBTI during the conference. He shared and discussed the details of steps being taken up by the Health Department under NRHM Flagship Programme to strengthen the Blood Transfusion Services in J&K.
The conference was attended by more than 800 delegated from across the country including experts in the field of Transfusion Medicine, Voluntary Blood Donors, Donor Motivators and Camp organizers.
An Action Plan for setting up of seven Blood Banks at new districts and three Component Separation Laboratories-one each at Jammu, Srinagar and Leh have been communicated to NACO, Dr Raina said.
