Kongposh Club scripts 27-run win to advance

JAMMU, Sept 18: Kongposh Cricket Club drubbed Sharda Cricket Club by 27 runs in a low scoring match to advance in the ongoing 1st Inter-State Koushur Cricket Tournament, being held at Mohan Meakins ground, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier, put into bat Kongposh Cricket Club bundled out for a paltry total of 62 odd runs in 18 overs. Kuldeep Tickoo top scored with 18 runs, while Sudhir Peshin and Aman Zutshi contributed 15 and 14 runs to the total respectively. For Sharda Club, Vikas scalped 3 wickets, while Sonu Singh claimed 2 and Rajender picked one.
In reply, Sharda Club batsmen crumbled at a meagre total of 32 runs, thus lost the match by 27 runs. Only Akshay crossed the double figure mark, scoring 16 runs, while Vikas and Vinod Tickoo contributed 8 and 6 runs to the total respectively. For Kongposh Club, Nasir was pick of the bowlers, who claimed 4 important wickets, while Sanjay Kher picked 3 and Tashur Koul took 2 wickets. Nasir was adjudged man of the match for his superb bowling display.
The match was officiated by Ashok Kumar and Zait as umpires, while Jatinder Sadhu was the scorer.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rohin Koul, Vicky Matoo, Nitin Bakshi and organizers Sagar and Amit.
