JAMMU, Mar 16: Dr N C Prabhakar, representing National Intelligence Bureau and Anti Corruption Foundation of India, called on SSP Crime Branch Jammu, Rajeshwar Singh and held an interaction over a number of issues.
During the interaction, it was observed that there was need to organize awareness programmes for the general public, which could help the investigating agency.
Another issue that came under discussion was that the cases for investigation are taken up as and when referred by the Police Head Quarter, Govt and Judiciary and no case be suo-moto taken up for registration/enquiry without the order of senior Police officer.
Pertinent to mention that Crime Branch is specialized investigation agency of the State Police and the cases taken up by this branch are of peculiar nature requiring intensive and extensive investigation.
Crime Gazette, being published by Crime Record Bureau Crime Branch J&K Police, giving all the statistical information about the various crimes, also came up for discussion during the interaction.
