JAMMU, Feb 14: The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) headed by Dr (Prof.) Parveen Akhter Lone held a function today at Post Graduate Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Indira Gandhi Govt. Dental College (IGGDC) Jammu.
A lecture regarding awareness of services provided by this Oral and Maxillofacial surgery centre and importance of the International Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon’s Day was delivered by Dr (Prof.) Parveen Akhter Lone. Dr Roopav Nagotra, Dr Sanjay Kumar, Dr Mohammed Israr, Dr Abhiroop, Dr Sourav, Post Graduates students, House Surgeons beside other staff members participated in the function.
Principal IGGDC Jammu, Dr (Prof) Rakesh K. Gupta appreciated the quality clinical services provided by the department especially during the COVID-19 pandemic period. He congratulated the Head of Department for her continuous efforts in upgrading the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery to new heights.
The speciality of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery deals with Facial trauma, Deformities of face, Pathologies of jaws, TMJ problems etc in addition to minor Oral surgical procedures.
The function concluded with presentation of Certificates by the Principal IGGDC Jammu, Dr (Prof.) Rakesh K. Gupta among the winners of poster competition in presence of Dr Girish, Medical Superintendent Govt Dental Hospital Jammu. Dr. Sanjay Bhagat was also present.
