JAMMU, Mar 5: Former minister and Senior Congress leader, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today criticised both UT and Union Governments for adopting anti employees policies being adopted after the conversion of erstwhile state into Union Territory.
He also alleged the same policy was adopted by the erstwhile coalition government of PDP-BJP during its tenure, resulting of which, the Daily wagers/Casual labours, ITI workers and CP workers are running pillar to post for getting their monthly remunerations.
Dr Sharma said thousands of daily wagers are working tirelessly in the various departments for more than ten to fifteen years on the nominal remunerations. The government should be thankful to them who work hard after acute financial hardships but the attitude of the Government towards their genuine demands are totally inhuman.
“The government instead of recognizing their contributions trying to harass and discourage them by issuing such anti daily wagers statements “Why they are working without salaries, who asks them to do so and who engage them,” after a decade of their services in respective departments, he asserted.
Sharma criticized that it was very unfortunate that the Union governments was utterly failed to address their genuine demands even after making commitments during the parliament elections at highest level in every election rally.
Dr Sharma supported the genuine demand of the PHE daily wagers who are recently striving hard and sit on dharna at PHE Chief Engineers Office Jammu and asked Government to regularize them as recommended by Cabinet Sub-committee in the year 2014-15 and demanded earliest release of their pending salaries without further any delay.
He urged the LG Administration for their regularisation under SRO-64 instead of SRO-520.
