NEW DELHI, Apr 6: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today kicked off the BJP election campaign for Municipal Corporation Delhi (MCD) from East Delhi with a series of public programmes and workers meetings.
Exhorting the workers to embark on election campaign with the determination that the MCD election is being fought to be won by BJP, Dr Jitendra Singh said, a victory is assured for us and the question is how to put in place an optimum strategy to ensure that no mistake or error is committed while achieving the target of highest ever margin in the history of Delhi MCD election. He said, if we could Manipur assembly election and put up an incredible show in Uttar pradesh, there is no reason why we should not do even better here.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, we need not refer to the name of Kejriwal too often because that is a dead force and we have not to be distracted by our opponents. Let it be a multi – corner contest, he said, and and we will emerge victorious.
Referring to the decision of BJP Central High Command not to repeat the candidature of any of the sitting Corporators, Dr Jitendra Singh said, whatever the party has decided is in the larger interest and also in the interest of the former Corporators and therefore none of them ought to be upset by the sequence of the events. In the long run, he said, when BJP comes in Delhi Corporation with a thumping majority, this will pave the way for other aspirants also to seek opportunity as legislators in the State Assembly or for Lok Sabha in 2019.
Dr Jitendra Singh also spent some time in personal one-to-one campaign with some of the new candidates including Rajni Pandey from New Ashoka Nagar.
