NEW DELHI, Nov 22: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh today hosted a media get-together over a luncheon meet at his residence here, wherein all the Delhi-based familiar media personalities, including TV anchor persons, reporters and journalists from print media came together for an informal, one to one interaction with the Minister. Also present on the occasion was Director General of Press Information Bureau (PIB), A.P. Frank Noronha.
This was part of a practice of periodic media get-togethers started by Dr Jitendra Singh. The last such get-together was hosted by him in April.
Dr Jitendra Singh went around, engaging himself in one to one chat with each of the guests, who were keen to share the Minister’s views on a variety of current issues ranging from recent innovative initiatives in Northeast, DoPT decisions like abolition of interviews for jobs and revision of IAS/Civil Services exam syllabus, CBI inquiry into Indrani Mukherjea case, working of PDP- BJP coalition in Jammu & Kashmir, his major initiatives as MP in Kathua-Udhampur-Doda constituency and a host of other related issues. To each of these queries, Dr Jitendra Singh responded politely saying that today’s get-together was only meant to be an informal feast with the media fraternity, of which he has himself been a part for the last several years.
To a persistent query from some of the media persons as to how he personally felt like while working under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr Jitendra Singh said, Modi is undoubtedly the best head of government that one could ever have to work under, because he is thoroughly professional in his approach and gives you opportunity to perform to the maximum of your potential. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a very hard working person and inspires others also to work with diligence and honesty, he added.
At the conclusion of the get-together, all the attending media persons were highly appreciative of Dr Jitendra Singh’s unique initiative and suggested to him to organize similar informal meets at more regular intervals in future.
