NEW DELHI, Nov 8: Continuing with his resolve to encourage science aptitude among youngsters, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, MoS PMO, DOPT, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh today felicitated four young students in the Class-IX to XII age group for their extraordinary talent in Space Research.
Describing the four school boys as young Space Researchers, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, for children, the mysteries of space have always held a special fascination ever since the times when the grandmother started the practice of narrating fairy tales about stars and planets. Therefore, promotion of Space Research among youngsters, in turn, paves the way for inquisitiveness for scientific experimentation in general, he added.
He also offered to arrange for the four young scientists a trip to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Centre at Sriharikota, so that they could actually have a feel of the “Space Capital” of India.
The four students,  Aryan Mishra, Keerti  Vardhan, Akshat Sharma and Kshitij Jindal, said that they were absolutely excited by the encouraging response from Dr. Jitendra Singh and said, they had never expected that they would ever get to meet the Union Minister for Science & Technology or that the Minister would personally offer them a trip to Sriharikota.
The four students have excelled in the research on “Asteroids” and were supported in their venture by the Ministry of Science & Technology and a non-Government agency devoted to Space Research.
