BANI, Oct 3: During his two days tour of Bani Assembly Constituency in district Kathua, Union Minister in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh today announced Rs.40 lakh MPLAD for Bani in addition to the proposal for a Kendriya Vidyalaya, Regional language Radio FM channel and a Railway link.
Dr Singh who represents Kathua-Udhampur -Doda Parliamentary Constituency announced this while addressing a mammoth public rally here today.
Dr Jitendra Singh said out of Rs.40 lakh MPLAD, , Rs.20 lakh will be disbursed immediately and will be meant for starting the work for construction of two class rooms in High school in Dapar and Duggain Blocks in addition to fencing of ground at Chonuri. At the same time, toilet complex works at Doullah and Jodian Mata in Duggain Block will also be taken up in near future.
Dr. Jitendra Singh suggested to the local MLA Jeevan Lal who was also present on the occasion to develop a concept paper for an Inter-State Tourist Circuit including Bani and the adjacent areas of Himachal Pradesh, so that the natural scenic beauty of Bani could be utilized to promote tourism employment and revenue generation. For the abundant quantity of fruit which goes waste, he suggested a fruit marketing plan under which he would himself facilitate a group of young enterprising activists from the Constituency to sit with the members of fruit industry in Chandigarh and Delhi in order to promote the export of fruit and fruit juices on the pattern as is practised in Himachal Pradesh.
As far as VDCs and SPOs , Dr. Jitendra Singh said, their salary was hiked to double last year, but did not receive the emoluments because the State Government said that it had no finances for the purpose. He suggested that the State Government should earmark a separate amount for the purpose in the forthcoming Central Package for Jammu & Kashmir.
About the roads, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, PMGSY road projects had been expedited on fast track and asked the local MLA to get DPRs prepared for the roads to be taken up under CRF by the Union Ministry of Road Transport.
MLA Bani Jeevan Lal, District President BJP Mankotia and Block President Thakur Das have also spoken on the occasion.
During his arrival yesterday Dr Jitendra Singh visited Sewa Hydel Project and interacted with the Engineers and officers there. He was given a warm reception by the senior engineers and employees of the Project led by P K Langer Chief Engineer. Later, the Union Minister took round of the Project and listened to the problems of the engineers and other staff members.
He assured them that he will take up their problems with the concerned Ministry at Delhi.
