JAMMU, Dec 21: Dr Iftikhar A Chowdhary, IRS, has been promoted to Level-13 / Additional Commissioner by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC), Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
An alumnus of Government Medical College, Srinagar, Dr Chowdhary has served in key positions including Deputy Commissioner, Central Excise/Central GST; Deputy Director, GST Intelligence, J&K; and Joint Commissioner, Central GST (Executive & Appeals).
During his ex-cadre deputation to UT Ladakh, he held the posts of Managing Director, National Health Mission (NHM) and CEO, Ayushman Bharat Health Mission, and played an important role in healthcare administration during the COVID-19 period (2021-2023).
