JAMMU, Sept 1: Dr Aziz Hajini, Secretary J and K Academy of Art Culture and Languages today released Sardar Baljeet Singh Raina’s new book namely ‘Panchnat’, consisting of five Hindi plays, during an impressive function organized by Samooh Theatre here today. at Cultural Academy Complex.
The function was presided over by the eminent Dogri writer, N D Jamwal while S Mushtaq Kak, noted theatre director, shared the dais as guest of honor besides Dr Baljeet Singh Raina and Dr Sudhir Mahajan.
On this occasion, a website of Samooh Theatre was also launched putting the details of all the activities and the history and contribution of the Group, especially to the Dogri and Hindi drama for the last over 25 years.
The website was designed and conceived by Satish Dafara, a senior artist of the Samooh Theatre, presently running a website designing company at New Delhi.
The book ‘Panchnat’ in Hindi is having the content of social and political set up , man women relationship , plights of the women ,effects and cause of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir , exploitation of the lowers by the upper class etc.
Dr Kamal Sharma, in his welcome address, disclosed about the various activities with reference to the theater and Drama to be undertaken by the Samooh theatre in the coming month including the theatre festival of world classic plays, series of lectures on personality development through Theatre art. Dr Sudhir Mahajan presented vote of thanks.
The function was attended by a galaxy of artist from all the arts fraternity besides social and cultural activists, including Prof Lalit Magotra , Dr Manojeet Singh , Pyasa Anjuam , Neeru Sharma , Sardar Devinder Singh Vishawnagrik and avinder Sharma.
