JAMMU, Mar 12: Principal of Vimal Muni College of Education, Vijaypur, Dr. Gharo Choudhary presented research paper during a three days international conference ‘India-Nepal Literature Festival’ at Pokhra, Nepal.
Title of her presentation was ‘Travelogue of the great dreamer: Rahul Sankrityayan’-a great scholar of Hindi literature, popular as ‘Father of Indian Travelogue’ as he has travelled a lot across the globe at a time when travelling was very difficult and during his travels he brought the lost ancient 363 manuscript of India from Tibet.
About 75 scholars from across the globe presented their papers during the event.
Dr. Gharo while addressing the gathering said that Rahul Sankrityayan was born as Kedarnath Pandey on April 9, 1893 and he died on April 14, 1963.
“He was an Indian writer and a polyglot who wrote in Bhojpuri and Hindi and was one of the most widely travelled scholars of India spending 45 years of his life on travels away from his home,” she maintained adding that he was born as a Hindu, turned into a Buddhist monk but eventually ended as a Marxist atheist.
The papers by Dr. Gharo Choudhary were appreciated by the literary personalities present on the occasion.
