Dr Dogra gets Babu Parmanand National Award 2018

JAMMU, Dec 10: Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Akademy, Delhi awarded Babu Parmanand National Award 2018 to Dr PN Dogra, Professor and Head of Urology Department, AIIMS (retired).
The award was given on December 9 in All India Dalit Writer’s 34th Annual Conference. The award was presented by Sangpriya Gautam, former Union Minister and a living associate of Baba Saheb Dr B R Ambedkar in the presence of Ramesh Chandra Rattan, Vice Chairman -PSC Committee, Railway Board, Dr SP Sumnakashar, International President BDSA, Dr Rajinder Parshad, Babu Parmanand’s son and HR Phonsa, a prominent J&K social activist.
The conference was also attended beside others, by Dr RK Punia, former Haryana Minister, Dr Rattan Lal Sonagra of Pune (a reputed Hindi and Marathi Dalit writer) and Lalti Devi, a Dalit activist of UP.
The annual two-day Dalit Writers’ Conference was attended by over 6000 delegates from all over the country. Delegations from UK, Nepal, Sri Lanka and some other foreign countries also attended the function and were awarded for their contribution to social justice.
All those who addressed the gathering praised the services rendered by Babu Parmanand in different capacities. Sangpriya Gautam, Dr Satyanarayan Jatiya and many other leaders of different parties attended and addressed the conference.
Dr Ratan Lal Sonagra conducted the proceedings.
