JAMMU, Jan 29: MLA R S Pura, Dr. Gagan Bhagat yesterday took an extensive tour of his Constituency along with Tehsildar R.S.Pura, XEn, Ground Water, XEn Tubewell Irrigation, XEn Soil conservation, XEn P.W.D and found that the water bodies are being encroached by the land mafia.
Taking a strong note of encroachments along the water bodies Dr. Bhagat instructed Tehsildar R.S Pura Manoj Kumar to immediately perform the demarcation process of the water bodies and lodge an F.I.R against the tresspassers besides restoration of State and Government, land at village Gazipur Kullian the locals complained against a Patwari, Tehsildar R.S Pura confirming the receipt of complaint informed the M.L.A that an inquiry has been initiated in the encroachments along main road side and who so ever found guilty will be dealt strictly under the law.
While Dr. Bhagat said that due to these encroachments floods like situation occur, as we had witnessed recently in the State, some people with ulterior motives try to destabilize the ecosystem as a result many people and society at large suffer. Dr. Bhagat also stressed on “clean R.S Pura-Green R.S Pura” and plantation drive in R.S.Pura with the help of NGOs and local administration.
